Happy Spring Semester!

The Suzuki School of Newton is a non-profit, out-of-school instrumental music program offering lessons in Suzuki violin, viola, cello, piano, guitar, flute, harp, music theory, chamber music, and orchestra in addition to an arts preschool and preparatory courses for students two to four years of age. The school draws students from throughout the Greater Boston and surrounding areas. Our integrated arts Suzuki Preschool opened its doors in the fall of 2009 and features Suzuki music instruction as part of its daily curriculum.
The program will run from 9am-3pm Tuesday through Friday, with a half-day option available. No music experience required. Learning through activities based upon the Renaissance period, students will play recorder, sing, make costumes, play Renaissance ensemble music, do calligraphy and learn Elizabethan dance. Suzuki Prep is a pre-instrumental Suzuki music class for children ages 2 to 4 and an accompanying adult caregiver in a group setting. Come find out why the Suzuki philosophy works! We will be offering Suzuki Prep at 1:00 on Fridays and 10:00 and 1:45 on Saturdays for the spring semester begins Jan. 28th. Free Trial class on Friday, Jan. 27th at 1:00. Early Beginners is beginning Suzuki violin and piano lessons for children ages 4 to 5 and an adult caregiver. This gentle and fun-filled beginners' class provides a smooth transition into the SSN core music program. The Suzuki School is offering an EB Piano class Thursdays 6:00-6:45 and EB Violin class on Fridays 12:15-1:00 or Saturdays 9:30-10:00 for spring 2012. New and prospective parents, please join us for "Parent Role in Suzuki Music Lessons", an informational gathering where you can learn about the program and what to expect from a Suzuki education. The next meeting is being held in February (date TBA) in Room 105. Attendance is required for enrollment.
We have a rolling admissions policy. All new enrollments require attending a Parent Role information session and visiting the school with an interview with the director. *Call 617-964-4522 to schedule a visit.
The Suzuki School of Newton will be hosting its next Every Child Can course, an introduction to the Suzuki approach to learning, on Sunday, January 29, 2012 from 12:30 to 7:00 p.m. Click here to download the flyer. This is the first required course for Suzuki teachers.
Suzuki teacher professional development courses also available in the Spring 2012 Semester: Suzuki Teacher unit course in Violin Book 1 starts Jan. 30th for 15 Mondays from 12:00 to 2:30 p.m. and for Violin Book 2 from 6:15-7:45 (Please note times have changed). Piano Book 1 starts February 9, 2011 from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. for 12 Thursdays. Suzuki Teacher unit course in Cello Book 2 starts Monday, February 6, 2011 from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Registration forms are available here. Deadline for enrolling is one week before the start of each class.
